The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking to buy a mid-priced robot vacuum and mop. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks certain of the more advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

In the course of testing, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is integrated into the charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is in place you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button click. You can choose an overall clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger pieces of debris like cereal and rice. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that your home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It is able to pick up pet hair and also suck big objects up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not able to work with plush or high-pile carpets however iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to hug furniture and walls. It's a great improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of robovacs, but we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has a superior filtration system that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think this is a nice claim, but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior of your home. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of higher-end models and its mopping system is better still--its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only downside is that it does not have a second rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but that's an acceptable cost to pay if want one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's tank for dust is larger than many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create low noise, which means you can work or watch television without getting distracted. If it comes across the wall or a piece of furniture it gently smacks into it and then moves on.

What distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely on its own, with no need for human intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the hidden bin and cleans and drys mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to a full bin.

You can also create or combine actual rooms to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This feature is useful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home, or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the best performers in my test, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first go. It can also remove wet spills however I would recommend wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that comes with all the features you could need. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, and an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough best self-emptying robot vacuum stains. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.

The most notable improvement over the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is thanks to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still large--it measures over two feet in height and depth and weighs in at least four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it charges faster and can complete a cleaning of around 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that can be used even when you're at home. It also has a smart routing function that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined path.

The X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested, due to its mop pads rotating to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too and it enhances suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does a thorough job. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that can last up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a top-quality model that has a range of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It is able to create detailed floor maps and identify different flooring types. It's also among the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These are nice features however they can make the L10s more of a class of luxury. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners want.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, you'll find a single button that essentially is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will turn it off and transmit it back to its base station. The control panel includes a circular menu that allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will bring up the app's settings menu where you can alter how the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your house. This creates a detailed floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop effectively and avoid getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and identify them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.

The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hard floors, and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well in removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. It was not as efficient at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
